Bacteria
The process begins when Psychrophilic bacteria in Rapid Compost kick-start composting even at low temperatures. Subsequently, Mesophilic and Thermophilic bacteria slowly raise the temperature of the compost pile. This kills pathogens in compost. With rising temperature the process gets faster as the composting bacteria actively break down a wide variety of complex organic matter in compost.

Actinomycetes
Actinomycetes break down complex starch and proteins in compost, and release the trapped nitrogen and carbon. Actinomycetes also secrete Geosmin, which imparts a pleasant earthy smell to compost. Antibiotics produced and secreted by Actinomycetes stop pathogenic microbes from growing.

Fungi
